Noosa Heads is one of the busiest districts of Noosa. Situated on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, it is one of the preferred spots for a lot of professional surfers. Since Noosa is known for its wonderful beaches with big waves, the area developed into a successful resort where the multitude of activities and things to do make it a weekend or vacation places for millions of people from all around the world. The district is surrounded by the Noosaville, North Shore, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach, Castaways Beach suburbs and by the Pacific Ocean.
Because of its location and wonderful beaches as well as all the restaurants, hotels, clubs and other tourist attractions, the district is a well known place in the Noosa area. Noosa Heads is the district that has one of the most important tourist related street, the Hastings Street. This street is famous for its restaurants and its geographical location. Hastings Street has the Noosa Woods and Noosa Spit at one end and the Noosa National Park at the other end. It is also a favorite place for the night entertainment because of the wide variety of restaurants and cafes located here and an excellent area for the shopping lovers.
Noosa Heads is popular for its shopping area which includes art galleries, fashion stores and jewelers; however the number one attraction are the beaches and the small bays which are famous in the surfers community and not only. This is the place where the Noosa Festival of Surfing takes place every year. Other events that attract a lot of tourists are the Noosa Long Weekend which stretches on a ten days period, Noosa Triathlon and Rock’n Tewantin. Because the area is close to the Noosa National Park a big number of koalas can be seen in and around the Noosa Heads district. The district’s population is about 10,000, but more than a quarter million visitors come here every year. Its geographical placement makes it the most north eastern tip of the Noosa National Park. Also the climate which is not too hot and not too cold makes is an ideal vacation place for people who like warm places, but not excessively warm. In the winter the temperature rarely goes below 7°C and in the summer the maximum is usually 28°C.
If it is the first time you are traveling in the area you should know that you can use a taxi or your own car to get around the area. For any medical, police or fire emergencies you can dial 000. Also in restaurants even though tipping is not expected, you can tip 10% if the service was more than you expected. As for smoking, this is only allowed in specially designed outdoor areas. Apart from all these Noosa Heads is the place where each person can find something to do. If you like to relax and enjoy four vacation you can choose any of the many available cafes or terraces where you can enjoy a glass of wine or any other kind of drink while catching up with your friends and family and having a breathtaking panorama in front of you.
If you like to stay in the sun and are on a family vacation with your kids going to one of the beaches in the district can accomplish all the family’s needs. You can lie in the sun and relax while your kids make sand castles or splash around. If you are an active person and like to keep busy you can take surf lessons on one of the beaches, you can book one of the numerous activities and tours available in Noosa Heads and its surrounding suburbs.
Since Noosa Main Beach is next to Hastings Street enjoying a great meal and taking a walk on the beach along the Laguna Bay can be a treat. And if you are lucky enough you might even see dolphins and whales in the bay. Depending on the season there are many things you can do in the district and getting here is easily done by plane, train, coach or car. Some of the most popular activities are the surfing lessons, the kayaking on the ocean or the Noosa River, the 4WD tours, and the fishing trips.
